Thoughts From The Porch

Several months ago, I began writing “Thoughts From the Porch” as a Facebook post. What I didn’t know is that once they’re directly posted to Facebook, they’re subject to a question of ownership. That’s when I began posting them through my blog instead. That’s where they can be found today.

“Thoughts From the Porch” are simply random thoughts about my own experiences and those shared with the world at-large. They tend to be spiritual in nature, simply because I’ve learned over time to nurture the relationship with the God of my understanding. I set aside a special time to do that in the mornings that almost always takes place on my front porch here in White Settlement, Texas. I tend to experience God’s presence on the porch, in the quiet solitude of our little cul-de-sac.

In the time I’ve had on the porch, I’ve come to find that, in reality, everything is spiritual in nature. I see God’s handiwork all around me: in my home, in my family, and in the broader community I’m a part of. Spirituality affects the way I see the world around me. It affects how I act and react to the things I see and do. Believe me, I have my moments that are none too spiritual, but they don’t last as long or come as often as they used to. For that, I truly grateful…

As a writer and something of an introvert, it’s important to connect with the world around me. My hope is that by sharing “Thoughts From the Porch”, I can connect with others. I hope that you find a shared experience and I certainly welcome your comments and suggestions. I hope you follow me along this journey. Feel free to share you thoughts anytime. Meanwhile, I think I’ll grab another cup of coffee and head out front…
